Base on a free cooling energy efficient unit developed by authors, installed in a base station in Jinan, tests the performances of indoor temperature decrease. The experimental results show that the energy saving effect increases rapidly with outdoor temperature decrease. Based on fitting and analysis of experimental data, inputting hourly discrete weather temperature of Jinan to calculate energy consumption with different upper limit indoor temperatures in recent 6 years, the calculated data show that power saving rate and power saving of the new system increases and decreases respectively with increasing upper limit. Based on the weather data in 2016, energy saving of the new system is 3 425.76, 2 929.88, 2 403.97, 1 784.22 kWh at upper limit temperatures of 22, 26, 28, 30 ℃, then corresponding energy saving rates are 28.44%, 37.66%, 42.57% and 50.77% respectively.
